    Lisa Hines

    Shirley Hodge

    Treasurers

    1. Financial Report/2018 Budget
    2. Pay Pal Account
    1. Shirley needs to send Lisa information, so Lisa will email financials to Ronnie & Pam once she gets the information.
    2. Shirley & Lisa both will look at what we need to do to create a Pay Pal account or similar payment method (Betty suggested authorize.net also).  Ronnie would like for this to be one of our THRIVE initiatives because it would enable some of our chapter members to expedite dues to the Chapter quicker.

    Membership Chairs

    1. 2018 SSVA Chapter Membership Update

    1. Christine reported that we are still pending payment from Goodyear, but once received we will have:

    58 members

35 of which are National Members

We had 10 new members join this year and have 3 outstanding potential new members to possibly join

Connie Alderson informed if you visit the membership listing on our website and the member has an (*) by their name, this indicates that member does not have an online account.

    Jean Burks

    Petrina Carter

    Program Chairs

    1. Programs planning for 2018
    2. Administrative Assistant Day

Admin Day report out was done by Christine Thompson.  Admin Professionals will receive a logo free jump drive as their gift at the event next week.  We were unable to get a logo due to the timing of our order, which is expected for arrival on Tuesday before Admin Day.  100 jump drives were ordered and we’ve had 60 Administrative Professionals RSVP to date.  Extras will be used for speaker gifts.

Ronnie P. reported our May program is Yvonne Thayer speaking on Workforce Trends and Evolution of the Workforce.  Ronnie asked if we typically reimburse speaker for mileage and it was discussed that we have in the past for mileage and some lodging expenses, but we don’t typically pay for the presentation unless it’s a seminar event presenter.

Betty said she would like for one of our THRIVE initiatives to be to have an all-day conference showcasing multiple speakers with topics that would be relevant and impactful to area businesses.  It will be open to the public and hopefully generate revenue for the Chapter.  September was discussed as a good time & Angie M. made a motion that a committee be formed to discuss this as an initiative & Jan B. second.  All were in favor

    Betty Wilcher

    Certifications

    1. Updates on changes (SHRM & HRCI)
    1. Neither The Admin Professional Day presentation nor May’s presentation have not been certified to date, but it’s expected that they both will be approved.

    Connie Alderson

    Susan Watkins

    Communication Chairs

    1.    Facebook Account

    2.    Meeting Sponsorships

    1.  Susan reported that they need our logo to put on the Facebook site they created.  She also said there was some confusion about who had signed/not signed the acknowledgement form granting permission for their photo to be displayed on our page.  They will attempt to capture this information again with a revised form that is clearer.  Connie said Christine asked about the guest fee for attending our regular meeting since our website said it was $25 & she thought it was $15.  After group discussion, it was agreed that this will not be changed with the understanding that a guest can attend free their first visit if their intentions are to potentially join.  Attendance at any additional meetings, without a membership, is $25 per visit.  Our bylaws support this and does not mention a $$ amount so it doesn’t have to be changed with inflation.
