Topic: Fair Housing and How to Apply
Norma Brower moved here from Atlantic City, NJ in 2008. Being passionate about the residents in the city, she began working for the City of Atlantic City in Health & Human Services Department. Later the city was at risk of losing a grant from the NJ Department of Community Affairs, and the mayor asked her if she would take over the grant as the Neighborhood Preservation Program Coordinator. After that program was completed she became the Loan Advisor under a HUD grant that the city receives. In 2008 her daughter became ill and she began looking for employment to be closer to her. She found job compatible to what she was already doing here in Danville. Norma is currently as the Housing & Redevelopment Specialist/Fair Housing Officer for the City of Danville. She is also proud to say that has a grandson at A&T College majoring in Engineering and graduating in May, a granddaughter at Virginia Tec, she is a sophomore and majoring as an Architect and just won an Entrepreneur award and a granddaughter at UNC majoring in nursing. She been here in Danville for 12 years and has made Danville her new home.
