    FOUNDATION REPORT

Vicki Davis informed members that the raffle was no longer a feasible option for the annual fundraiser.  The permit for the raffle included a lengthy application process and the cost  for the permit would be $200. She also explored the idea of a fundraiser at a restaurant; however, the chapter would only be allowed to retain 20 percent of sales.  Board members discussed other options including a yard/garage sale.  Vicki will investigate this option and provide more details at the next meeting.

    WORKFORCE READINESS REPORT

Chad Younger reported that Danville Community Collee will be offering safety classes for industry.  SHRM certification prep classes are also possibilities for fall offerings.  The SHRM certification courses didn’t have enough enrollment to be offered previously.  Some members felt that the courses were cost prohibitive for employers. Ronnie Pannell stated that scholarships may be available to some members to take the courses.  He reminded board members of the requirement that more than 50 percent of members need to be SHRM certified.
