BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

Wednesday March 24,2021

WELCOME AND CALL TO ORDER

The Southside Virginia SHRM Board of Directors met on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 via Zoom Teleconference Meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 12:05 p.m. by Christine Thompson, Acting President. The following members were present at the meeting:

Christine Thompson, Acting President                   Connie Alderson, Communications

Vivian Brooks, Programs                                         Jennifer Strader, Membership                    

Shirley Hodge, Treasurer                                         Vicki Davis, Foundation

Chad Younger, Workforce Readiness         

Also, present was Betty Witcher- Host and Leslie Rakes- Co-Host

NEW BUSINESS        

• Betty Witcher presented slides on questions concerning the Chapter/Board.

Why members joined the Chapter and have they been satisfied.

The main reason presented was to Network, meet People and learn ways to make workplace a better place.Discussed what we would like to be implemented.Answers were feedback, interaction, and more information to new members.

• Discussed ways to get members more involved.  Board members agreed to call every chapter member to check on them during the Pandemic.  We currently have about 51 members. 
• Vicki Davis will send donation letters to Board members with a website for donations.

             The website is ssva.givesmart.com

MEMBERSHIP UPDATE

Vicki Davis has agreed to take over Secretary Chair for the remainder of 2021. 

TREASURER REPORT – AS OF 2/25/2021

Savings           $ 2191.92

Checking           $ 9147.76

CD                       $ 4993.96

Total:              $16333.64

Next Scheduled Board Meeting April 21,2021 via Zoom Teleconference 12:00 noon.
