    GUEST SPEAKER

Due to schedule issues, Petrina Carter served as guest speaker on the topic of “Creating a Positive Workforce” until the arrival of Joey Faucette. Petrina provided the following suggestions to create a positive workforce:

    • Stay positive
    • Combat issues before they start
    • Provide positive reinforcement
    • Come to work with a positive attitude and spread happiness
    • Smile and greet others
    • Motivate others through motivational sayings or posters in the workplace
    • Maintain an inviting office space
    • Celebrate wins and include all employees
    • Provide incentives and feedback to staff

Joey Faucette, president and founder of Get Positive and author of Working Positive in a Negative World, shared the core practices for a positive workforce:

    1. Change the mental perception – focus on the positive and filter out the negative through coaching
    2. Relationships matter - Getting along with people makes work a better place to be. Our relationships at work can have an impact on job satisfaction, learning and using our skills, staff turnover, morale, taking time off, and even our quality of life. It's also important for teamwork.
    3. Believe your workplace can be positive by engaging employees
    4. Achieve positivity through actions toward goals that result in success for companies
    5. Receive positivity from work – continue to find creative ways to say “thank you.”
