BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

Wednesday May 19, 2021

WELCOME AND CALL TO ORDER

The Southside Virginia SHRM Board of Directors met on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 via Zoom Teleconference Meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 12:05 p.m. by Christine Thompson, Acting President. The following members were present at the meeting:

NEW BUSINESS

• Christine Thompson stated the credit card had been activated and the PO Box is renewing in June 2021
• Christine Thompson stated Blue Ridge SHRM was invited to our next chapter meeting and Jill Levinson requested a presentation from the Blue Ridge group on May 12, 2021 for the members who couldn’t make it.  
• Minutes from April 21, 2021 Board meeting were reviewed motioned to accept by Shirley Hodge and seconded motion by Chad Younger. Minutes were approved.

• Considering In-person meetings beginning 4^th qtr.  Will poll members in June meeting for opinions.  Considering July meeting as a celebration for returning in person.  Contacting the Institute for lunch options. 

WORKFORCE READINESS

• Chad Younger stated there is a possibility of HR Classes with fall roll out date.

MEMBERSHIP

• Membership Chair is still available. 
• Currently have 38-40 members.  Listed all members.  Contacting members who have not paid. 

TREASURER REPORT – AS OF 04/23/2021

Savings           $    2192.46

Checking           $ 10803.76

CD                       $    4993.96

Total:              $  17990.18

• April Financials were reviewed and motioned to accept by Chad Younger and seconded motion by Jill Levinson.  April Financials were approved.

Foundation

• Vicki Davis will draft a letter to members and employers for a chapter donation.  This donation request will qualify as 2021 fundraiser.  Will also inquire the cost and procedure to continue the GIVESMART platform for future use by Southside VA SHRM to accept monies for the chapter including membership fees and 50/50 fundraiser.
