SOUTHSIDE VIRGINIA SHRM

REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING

WELCOME AND CALL TO ORDER

The Southside Virginia SHRM chapter met for its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 29, at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) in the first floor conference room.

The meeting was called to order at 11:55 a.m. Angie McAdams, president. Angie announced that our Chapter has earned the SHRM EXCEL Platinum Award for 2018. Angie thanked all of the board members and chapter members for their hard work and dedication to make this possible.

Angie announced that there are currently two positions on the board for Co-chair of programs. Members with birthdays during the month of May were recognized.

GUEST SPEAKER

Danville Police Officer Joe Martin was introduced, and presented information on the topic of Recognizing and Preventing Violence in the Workplace.

50/50 drawing was held $20.00 was won by Cheryl Terry.

President Angie McAdams congratulated Board Member Glenda Holt on her recent promotion and recognized special guest Leslie Racks SHRM-CP, PHR, Southern District Director SHRM State Council. Chapters include Southside Virginia SHRM, Blue Ridge HR Association, Lynchburg Regional SHRM, Roanoke Valley SHRM

ADJOURNMENT

The meeting adjourned at 1:15 p.m.
