1. Bylaws have been submitted to national SHRM and we are awaiting feedback. Still no feedback as of April 19, 2017.

1. Financial Audit – who, when, and where?

1.  Lisa still exploring auditing option. Chris to ask his accountant. National check to come in the coming days ($300 dollars).

1.  Bylaws completed and distributed. Pam distributed chapter minutes yesterday, but not all board members received.

1. Analysis on national members in the area who are not SSVA Chapter Members and a recommendation on how we might reach them
2. Explanation of the 2016 Membership Report

1.    Birthdays complete. April and May birthdays to be announced at May. Brochures reviewed and print quality, copy edits were discussed. Linda will provide board’s edits to printer. New photo needed for front with better quality. Will inquire with national for another approved photo.

3. Based on feedback – adjustment of monthly speakers to allow for another breakout work session.

1.  Total registered as of today is around 60 – a little down from last year. Chamber email being distributed today and will normally bring in additional late entrants. Total committed vendors is 7 – two checks received and most will bring payment day of. Volunteers day of event can inquire with Christy or Petrina. No door prizes have been collected; no one has reached out to Chris. Christine to send email to solicit again. Vendors will also bring $25 door prize.

Communication Chairs

1. Recommendation on how we might better use our website

1. Connie created board member page on chapter website. Website>More>Board Meeting minutes. Only visible to board members. Only issue is formatting doesn’t input correctly; Susan working on this and meeting with Connie to finalize formatting and template issues. Umbrellas were going to be too expensive as guest prizes, so will offer notebooks instead. Petrina will look into pens to attach with the notebooks. Total for notebooks was $337. Christy asked that all board members continue to promote the event.

1.  Recommendation on ways to strengthen relationship with the foundation and leverage within our chapter.
2. State Conference silent auction – would we want to contribute if so what?

1. Jessica needs 2016 donation amount; Lisa to provide exact amount. The donation would have been made in December, and Petrina recalls around $250-$300 was donated. Motion to make a 2018 donation of $500.

1. Recommendation on how workforce readiness will play a role in our chapter in 2017
2. Petrina Carter to speak at a monthly meeting

1. Ron to provide contacts to Ashley to schedule 2018 speakers.

College Relations Chair

1. Recommendation/plan for how we might start to engage our colleges/universities for partnerships

1.  Letters were mailed to Averett University students; two students are interested in attending in the next few months. Andrea also meeting with DCC today to make an introduction. No contact yet with American National University; emails are bouncing back.

Chris, Andrea, and Pam volunteering with mock interviews at DCC.

1.  Petrina speaking today at Leadership Southside and will be mentioning SHRM. Jasmine Meadows of Unique Industries will also be joining the meeting next as a guest of Pertina.
