    Dealing with Aging and Alzheimer.

    Name:  Dr. Janetta Brown

Title: Founder and CEO of The HBCU Experience - Alzheimer's Research Consortium, LLC

We will kick off at 11:30 with the business portion and then Dr. Brown will present how HR can assist employes dealing with aging and Alzheimer’s in loved ones.

This presentation is credited for 1 SHRM/HRCI credit.

This session will cover the trajectory, evolution, and complexity of dementia and its impact on caregivers. In some instances, caregivers have to make the necessary adjustments to their schedules, employment, and financial obligations in light of taking on the responsibility of providing care to their loved ones who are living with dementia. Caregivers are typically the adult children, spouse, family friend, or grandchild of the individual living with dementia and will need policies and concessions in place from their employers to accommodate the unpredictable caregiving demands. Thus, HR departments have a unique opportunity to support their employees who are impacted by dementia by understanding the magnitude of this condition and the changes in family, fiscal, physical, and emotional dynamics your employees may endure.
