- Reported out to Board on Christmas social meeting that Chris Wilson, Lisa Hines, & she attended 10/17/17 to brainstorm ideas for the social.
- All present consented to soliciting all members to bring a door prize to the social.
- All present consented to the ugly sweater contest. One door prize being held for the winner of this contest.
- All present strongly consented to the canned food drive for God’s Storehouse. Susan suggested we should call it “Share for SHRM”. Pam reported that she spoke to Karen Harris with God’s Storehouse on 10/17 and she confirmed they will provide us with a container for the collection of the canned goods and will do the pick-up from IALR on the day of our Christmas celebration, 12/13/17. Karen said the holidays are when they are in high demand for food donations and they would appreciate items that are related to the Christmas holiday. Pam will obtain a list to email out to everyone.
- All present consented to the candy filled jar to distribute to attendees as their member gift. Susan Watkins-Dalton had concerns that we may struggle with getting volunteers to help decorate the jars. We need to talk it up as an engagement event for members to get to know others better. Pam reported she would reserve the Goodwill Board Room for the jar decorating. Pam will donate jars & a number will be placed on the bottom of the jars for the door prizes. Anyone who has a number on the bottom of their jar receives a door prize.
- All present consented to the photo booth at the event. Pam presented that we would have 2 picture frames decorated so we could be more timely by doing 2 groups at once, if needed. She informed that we would need to have 2 members with iPads to take the pictures.
- All present consented that it was best to stick to a traditional meal for the Christmas celebration. We would like for IALR to present two menu options for the board to select one option for the event.

Susan Watkins-Dalton
Communication Chairs
|
- Susan discussed placing member job postings to the SVSHRM website, in addition to email distribution, so there is a second option to communicating member company vacancies. Susan Watkins-Dalton said her challenge is she is limited to the amount of emails she can receive and sometimes she doesn’t get the SHRM emails. This will also allow the posting to potentially be found from internet job searchers. A motion was made by Susan Watkins-Dalton to post vacancies that SVSHRM members have within their organizations to our SHRM Chapter website, as well as emailing to members. Ron Schmidt second the motion and all attendees were in favor.
