October Chapter Meeting Notes
SOUTHSIDE VIRGINIA SHRM
REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING
Wednesday, October 30, 2019
WELCOME AND CALL TO ORDER
The Southside Virginia SHRM chapter met for its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, October 30, at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) in the second floor conference room 207.
The meeting was called to order at 12:05 p.m. by Angie McAdams, president. The following members and guests were present at the meeting:

PRESIDENT’S REMARKS
- Members were updated regarding the yard sale, which was held on Saturday, October 19. Vicki Davis thanked everyone for their participation and donation of items. The yard sale generated $367 for the foundation. The foundation supports scholarships, conference attendance, and certification assistance.
- The Christmas event will be on December 11. Marcellous Reeves will be planning the event and would appreciate assistance from volunteers.
BOARD ELECTIONS
President Adams opened the floor for nominations for board positions which was followed by member voting. The SSVA SHRM Board of Directors for 20/20 is shown below:

Felisa King was the winner of the 50/50 drawing. The balance of funds will be deposited to the SHRM foundation.
